After a hail event, half the trucks in a Kentucky driveway have out-of-state plates. Ours has a Clark County address, and it is here the following winter.
This matters for a practical reason rather than a sentimental one. A workmanship warranty is only worth what the company backing it is still reachable for, and a claim supplement filed four months after the job needs somebody who has not moved on to the next weather system. It also means we already know how these three towns fail, because we have been fixing them here for over fifteen years.
